INSTRUCTION

Guitar instruction is available for beginner to advanced students of all ages.  Guitar styles range from rock to classical, and including electric guitar.  Beginner piano and voice lessons also available.

Beginners:

We focus on correct sitting posture, placement of the hands, strumming, music and tablature reading, and simple songs.  I use three different methods for beginners with the Christopher Parkening Vol. 1 being the main one.

Intermediate:

We focus on scales, technique, phrasing, reading music, theory, and arpeggios.  Building repertoire is an important aspect in this level of playing.  This is the level I teach in high school for UIL competitions at the regional and state level.

Advanced:

For musicians wanting to sharpen their skills and technique.  At this stage we dive deep into the Pepe Romero guitar technique for both left and right hands.  We focus on music theory and form.  At this stage, students step out of their comfort zone and begin to challenge more complex pieces.
